professional and so easy to work with

I emailed O"Brien Hyundai of Ft. Myers with a reasonable offer on a new car. They got back to me the same day, and within 15 minutes of talking on the phone we agreed on an out the door price and delivery to me since I'm 8 months pregnant. It was simple, professional, and respectful of my time. O'Brien had no problem sending me the figures and sharing the complete break down by email or text. There were no games, and no need to haggle since they were willing to accept a reasonable offer. The management and sales staff were great to work with, especially Jessica De Zayas and Rex Moonshower. The car was delivered as promised, and Jessica took the time to explain all the features to me. Paperwork was a breeze. I've never had car buying be so easy, and (honestly) enjoyable.

Sold my Subaru and they filled out the paper work to get a refund on my extended warranty. After weeks I tried to contact them to find out what was happening. Left messages even with General Manager. Nobody ever returned my calls. Found out they screwed up when they sold me the car new back in 2017. They don't care about you after they make that sale. Very poor customer service

Scammed by O'brien Mazda in fort myers Fla. $1500 cash down and $3500 mazda 626 trade, and a 6k loan for a piece of xxxx 2007 dodge caliber that has cost me almost 4k in repairs so far. This is how you get scammed by O'Brien. So 5k down and a 6k loan for a piece of garbage 2007 dodge caliber Good going. The place is disgusting

All in All a Good Experience

This is the 2nd time I have purchased a vehicle from this dealership. Working with Jessica and Rex made the purchase easy. Jessica had called after my internet search and I told her what I wanted as I had a couple of vehicles in mind. We set up an appointment for the following Monday. She found several vehicles for me to see and test drive that met my criteria. I spoke with Rex to get a 'no haggle', no 'back and forth' price and was given a fair price for my trade in. I went home, made my decision from a couple of choices, went back into the dealership and drove my new car home that night!! I absolutely love it!!! So far so good. The only thing that I wasn't pleased with is having to sign paperwork, and more paperwork and more paperwork in the back office, no copies given and really no explanations. I asked questions but answers were very vague. She kept trying to get me to take out additional warranties which I told her from the beginning that I wasn't interested in and from that point forward she was less than pleasant; otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

A Very Disappointing Experience

Our experience with O'Brien was very disappointing! We purchased a new 2019 Hyundai Accent on 7/11/19. They were unprofessional and very underhanded in dealing with us regarding their trade-in offer. I feel a dealership should be fair on a trade value and not try to take advantage of the customer. In my experience, this dealer conducted themselves in a deceptive manner by leading us to believe our 19-year-old Ford Mustang GT had to be taken to an auto auction and could not be sold retail (due to its age) from their lot. This was used as their justification for a lower trade-in offer. Once our deal was done, their post-sale customer service was horrible. My texts and voicemail messages to our salesperson went unanswered. I was told they would get back with me on a specific question I had about our trade and they did not do so. It took nearly 60 days to receive our registration and title (we were told "it will be close" to receive our registration by the end of August). Ultimately, I had to contact a member of the dealership's management to get answers to my questions and was shocked to be told that our Mustang would be placed on their retail lot for resale. So, while we were trying to be fair and understanding to the dealer regarding their trade-in offer, they apparently were misleading us to get more cash on the trade rather than trying to build a lasting relationship with a first-time customer. They chose dishonesty over integrity. I've bought over 30 new vehicles in my lifetime and I'll be around for a long time. I will never deal with O'Brien again, and I will share my story with as many people as possible.

They have all guided me and advised me, understanding my situation with great wisdom, never took advantage, and always answered all my questions. So happy with O'Brien

I've been with O'Brien since 2010 and our two cars today are: 2018 Elantra GT Sport 2019 Veloster Turbo Ultimate They are the 7th and 8th cars from O'Brien. Adan Hernandez (9 years) is awesome! Juan Giraldo (New) Looks to be very good too. Each of the cars has been great and we can't think of a good reason to shop anywhere else. Kudos to the Team at O'Brien!

So nice I purchased there TWICE.

So I initially purchased my certified Veloster from Josh at O'brien two and a half years ago. The experience was positive and painless. Josh was very helpful, KNEW HIS PRODUCT and walked me through the entire deal with the practiced confidence of a veteran. Pretty impressive actually. Fast forward to October of 2018 when they FINALLY get an R spec Veloster on the lot and here we go! This time, we gave the car a very thorough shakedown. Josh did his thing and once again delivered pretty much right along the lines of my expectations. Of course, I suppose it's relatively easy selling a vehicle that kind of sells itself... but bringing it in on point, at the right price, etc. is where the finesse comes in. And yes, I looked him up SPECIFICALLY when I went in to purchase the new car. ALSO... when the Mrs. leased HER new Sonata in 2017, Josh was our man then as well. That he was able to table the deal with the Mrs. is truly impressive. Go see the man! You'll be glad you did!

Brand new suv, sooo many times in for various repairs

After buying our brand new 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate suv (on Jan 30,2018), a few days later we noticed the passenger headlight had condensation, brought SUV to replace the headlight. Also noticed in front seats there were something that would poke you in the thighs when you would be sitting, if you would run your hand you could feel little spike like plastic coming up. Upon replacement of the seats the trim piece would not properly fit back on the seat, Hyundai order a replacement, had to come back left the SUV, when coming back to pick it up, we were advise that they ordered the wrong part and we would have to come back another time to replace this. After that was replaced, brought SUV couple of weeks later the Trim panel around the front seat would not fit together properly. A week or so after the passenger seat trim panel popped loose again, part had to be ordered. A few weeks after lower seat trim on passenger seat was replaced and Hyundai was notified about a clicking noise that the steering wheel was making when you fully turn it. Another few weeks after that we noticed that the passenger side rear molding was sticking out about a quarter inch, SUV had to be sent to body shop, at same time we expressed our concerned about brakes squealing at low speeds problem was never fixed. After SUV came from body shop, once you would open the trunk you can hear a noise simulating that something is loose inside of the actual trunk door. A few days ago the BSDS system failure light came on while driving on I-75, this has happened twice so far. Another recent thing has been the stereo the music would be on and all of the sudden you could only here the back speakers and not the front, you would have to turn off the stereo and turn it back on for the speakers to function properly. The suv has been back in for repairs at the shop again for new seats, check out the bsds system, the brakes, the steering wheel noise, to get a new radio and to get looked at because the suv wipers are streaking. We have contacted the general manager various time to talk to and in one instance of the last day of the month he saw us and we asked to speak to him and he just closed the door and they told us he was going to call us and nothing. The manager rex gave us an attitude when we told him that we are being nice about the subject. We bought a brand new suv and now we are stock with a lemon and we don’t have the money to get a lawyer, we trusted Hyundai and now we are even scared to drive this thing because of breaking. I left countless of emails and voicemails to the district manager D.H. Lee and no answers back. We spoke to the service manager and he said this which made us feel like we are hopeless thank you Hyundai. Good afternoon, Sorry for the delay. I have not yet heard back anything from Hyundai regarding your case. The only thing I have heard was from our rep, who advised me to advise you that if you are looking to have the vehicle repurchased under the lemon law, then you will need to go through the proper legal channels of the state of Florida. I legally cannot guide you through that process. However, there are laws in place to protect the consumer, and you are most certainly free to pursue that avenue. Our GM has been out of state. Everyone we came into contact at the dealership were friendly and very helpful. What stood out was that I felt that it was genuine and not put on just to have us buy a car. Our sales associate Mark was wonderful and most importantly at no time did we feel pressured and it was close to closing time on a Saturday. Two other people that we dealt with Rex the sales manager and David the finance manager were two of the nicest people you would ever want to do business with. All in all it was a great experience and we love our new car!

Worth the Drive

I was looking for a particular Santa Fe. The salesman I had been working with locally had moved on and my name was given to another. We did the usual dance and were close to agreeing on a price when I asked where the car was. Well, they didn't have one, but give us $500 and we'll get it for you. I don't think so. Through the wonders of the Internet, I knew before I arrived that O'Brien had what I was looking for. We talked one day, worked out a price and I came in a few days later and drove off. Nice facility, nice people and pretty easy to get along with. Even though it was a long drive, I'd come back.

First Impression

I was very happy with everyone and everything involved in the lease of my new vechicle ... except Chris. I would never want to work with him again. He didn't care anything about my lease deal ... he just wanted me to hurry up and get the papers signed. He talked so fast I couldn't understand a word he said. I asked him several times to slow down but he could have cared less .. he just kept right on rushing through in his boring monotone! He needs some training pronto!!! Great leasing experience

Our salesman Dave (and sales manager Rex) were excellent throughout the entire process. We were evaluating several different vehicles from different manufacturers, and the ultimate deciding factor was how well we were treated by Dave and Rex. Dave was persistent in maintaining contact with us over a period of several days and never got pushy, just kept the lines of communication open and let us know that he would do whatever he could to make a deal that we could accept. We think that the Hyundai Sonata we choose compares very favorably compared to the competition from Honda, Toyota, Mazda and the rest. We will certainly look first to O'Brien for our next car purchase/lease.

Excellent Car Buying Experience

I began my search online. Two people responded. First a woman who said she would have to ask her supervisor about some questions I asked and said she would got back with me. She did not, but the head of the online sales department, Nick, responded and asked if I had heard from her. I told him I had not and asked him the questions. In both cases several days went by before anyone got back with me. I almost did not follow up because I got the sense that they were not very responsive, informative or interested in a sale. I thought they just wanted to get me to the dealership. I eventually did come in and from that point on all the people I met with were very good. They were responsive, took the time to understand my particular circumstances and my financial issues. I was glad they understood and accepted my parameters and did not try to sell me a car that cost more than I wanted to spend. No high pressure sales! There was a senior sales person, Rex Moonshower and a junior sales person, Carlos Ramirez . They were both excellent and they worked together very well. The junior sales person was the one who interacted with me the most. He was perfect: professional, knowledgeable, listened and understand my issues and concerns, asked clarifying questions to make sure he was clear about my needs, was patient and willing to work with me to my satisfaction. I think he is an strong asset to your sales force. Often people that young do not work well with older folks, but I sensed no barriers or biases from him. The financial person, whose name I think was Sean (but I;m not sure), was also very professional. He was assertive and informed me of all service plans, etc, but he was not pushy about it. The part that I liked the best was that it did not take all day. I was able to make my purchase and be out of the store withing several hours. The length of time it takes to by a car is what makes me put off buying a car. I do my research in advance and I am almost certain what I want when I get there and I strongly dislike sitting around for whatever is happening during those long waits. I especially hate the negotiating when the sales person says they have to go ask their supervisor and then I want for 30 minutes or more. During this purchase there was only one such period before we negotiated an acceptable price. There was no haggling, which is excellent. I bought a Hyundai because I like the brand. I bought from O'Brien because I like their service center and the professionalism of the staff. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Another Stellar Experience From Obrien Hyundai!

David Cossairt was my Salesman, he did an excellent job on the test drive, he knew the vehicle inside and out. Every question I asked was answered in an appropriate amount of time. Any promises he made in regards to follow-up calls, he did just as he promised. He even called me a few times to make sure that the vehicle was exactly what I expected, and that it was working properly to my standards. He had the vehicle ready and prepped to my schedule, just as he promised. He took the time to go through all the bells and whistles, so to speak, on the entire vehicle inside and out! He met my expectations and went above them (And I am a very demanding customer). He fought for me to get a few extra perks that I had on my previous vehicle. He also invited me back any time I want to test-drive any of the new models as they come out! Rex was my Sales Manager. He paired me up with David in the beginning of this Car Buying experience. (Thank you Rex!) Rex is an excellent negotiator, and he swiftly worked out a deal to fit my needs, my family's needs, my budget and my growing household! I look forward to working with him in all of my future car purchases! Sonata limited ultimate

I like the way that Hyundai packages options so that you know exactly what is included with the vehicle that you purchase. Rex Moonshower was straight forward and fair with the purchase price. Apple Carplay was confusing and not ready for inclusion in the product. Hopefully Hyundai will provide a free Apple Carplay software upgrade, when it is documented and more usable (supports more IPhone Apps), and when it doesn't require connecting the IPhone via wire (usable via Bluetooth) every time you get in the car.

My O'Brien Hyundai Experience

Driving into the dealership I was met be Walter Bonsignore. He greeted me warmly and asked if I was looking for a particular vehicle. When I stated what I wanted, he led me straight to the exact vehicle configured the way I asked for and invited me to take a test drive. He explained how everything worked and answered all my questions in a professional and courteous way. When I decided that this was the vehicle I wanted to purchase I met with Rex and we sat down and hashed out a deal we were both comfortable with including the value of my trade-in ( 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid). I met with Chris in finance and Kate in customer service and they explained all I needed or wanted to know about my new Elantra. BEST CAR-BUYING EXPERIENCE IN THE LAST TEN YEARS

Purchased a 2017 Santa Fe Limited Ultimate. First let me start by saying I am not a neophyte when it comes to buying a car, being a CPA with prior dealership clients. From the time we first came in contact with Robby Collins during the inventory review, until the deal was settled with both him & Rex Moonshower, it was a pleasure to do business with this O'Brien team. We had gone to a few other Hyundai (and other car) dealers to review their on-site inventory (after looking at their online inventories) and to discuss prices; however, O'Brien's new (2017) inventory matched our needs and Robby and Rex couldn't have been more knowledgeable, helpful and willing to make a FAIR deal. In fact, it was such an easy buying experience and such a fair deal, that I was willing to drive the 60 miles and give Robby & Rex the business they deserved, rather than go back and try to arrange to have the car shipped to a dealer closer to our home and try and make the same deal over again. I also have to admit that this was my third Hyundai purchase with prior Santa Fe & XG-350 experience, with my sister also owning a Sonata, and both my son & best friend owning a Genesis After reviewing many other cars, I truly believe Hyundai provides the best value for the dollars spent. We highly recommend a Hyundai, Robby & Rex, and this O'Brien dealership!

Adan and Juan went out of their way to provide the highest level of customer service and working with me to get as close to the price I wanted to pay as possible. O'brien lost my business to a competitor that came in at a better price 3 years ago when I was shopping for a car, but this time they really did everything they could (or at least made me feel that way) to make me an offer I couldn't refuse. I shopped other dealerships, but in the end Adan and team beat their price, and was able to get me into the trim level I wanted. My bluelink wasn't registered when I drove off the lot, and after being told by bluelink customer service that the dealer needed to register the vehicle under my name, I called the dealership and they transferred me to Juan's cell phone. In speaking to him, I realized he had already gone home for the day and told him that we could definitely wait until the next day, but Juan went out of his way to make sure I was set up that same night. I am a stickler for customer service, and it is the #1 reason why I do or don't return to a business. I would recommend the tag team of Adan and Juan to anyone looking to purchase a Hyundai (btw, Hyundai has come a loooooooooooooooooooooong way in their quality and design).

Lack of Follow through

Experience not much different than any other dealer. Salesman very nice but apparently had no say in actual deal. Runs back and forth to "manager" for negotiations. You need to do your homework regarding incentives cash rebates etc available. At the end of trying to settle on price was advised I was entitled to a $500 veterans cash rebate (US Army Vietnam Combat Veteran). Was asked how We would like the payment. Told them to send a check. There was no check to be issued. The $500 had already been used to reduce the price. That is fine but disclose it up front, do not state there will be a payment issued when in fact it was applied as if I was given a break on the price. Was advised next that a copy of the government issued DD214 was necessary. Understandable to validate military service. Then.. was advised since the vehicle was in the name of my wife, was told a copy of a marriage license was necessary. Fortunately I had both items stored on my PC and emailed both with a request to confirm receipt by the dealership. No confirming email or phone call received after a considerable wait. Called the manager, Adan, to check on the receipt. He said to email to him. I did with a request he confirm receipt. No confirmation from him. I called, oh yes it is here. xxx. No follow through. My wife signed a dozen or more forms with the assumption we would be given copies. No. Was told they were for them. I would like copies. Regarding the car. It is beautiful. My wife is very happy with it. Time will tell what the quality of the service is from the other side of the dealership. I was a business owner for many years and had serious responsibility in war. Finish the job. Don't waste my timing performing your follow up. Please forward all the forms signed to conduct the transaction. Regarding recommending the dealership. I have no basis for an opinion yet other than my initial experience so I answered no.but in reality it should say unsure. Addendum by my wife: December 12, 2018: My experience with O’Brien motors was very pleasant. Specifically I felt that Michael Tedder was a very good salesman. He is an asset to your staff! He is a friendly and engaging young man. He is knowledgeable and open to finding an answer if he is unsure. He was a big part of my deciding to lease my Hyundai Tucson Ultimate from O’Brien. I also found Chris Scalfani and Adan Hernandez very nice to deal with that day. I felt that they all worked together to try to make the process as smooth as possible. Please note I wrote the first part of this review 10 days with no response from anyone at the dealership..

Brand new suv, sooo many times in for various repairs

After buying our brand new 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate suv (on Jan 30,2018), a few days later we noticed the passenger headlight had condensation, brought SUV to replace the headlight. Also noticed in front seats there were something that would poke you in the thighs when you would be sitting, if you would run your hand you could feel little spike like plastic coming up. Upon replacement of the seats the trim piece would not properly fit back on the seat, Hyundai order a replacement, had to come back left the SUV, when coming back to pick it up, we were advise that they ordered the wrong part and we would have to come back another time to replace this. After that was replaced, brought SUV couple of weeks later the Trim panel around the front seat would not fit together properly. A week or so after the passenger seat trim panel popped loose again, part had to be ordered. A few weeks after lower seat trim on passenger seat was replaced and Hyundai was notified about a clicking noise that the steering wheel was making when you fully turn it. Another few weeks after that we noticed that the passenger side rear molding was sticking out about a quarter inch, SUV had to be sent to body shop, at same time we expressed our concerned about brakes squealing at low speeds problem was never fixed. After SUV came from body shop, once you would open the trunk you can hear a noise simulating that something is loose inside of the actual trunk door. A few days ago the BSDS system failure light came on while driving on I-75, this has happened twice so far. Another recent thing has been the stereo the music would be on and all of the sudden you could only here the back speakers and not the front, you would have to turn off the stereo and turn it back on for the speakers to function properly. The suv has been back in for repairs at the shop again for new seats, check out the bsds system, the brakes, the steering wheel noise, to get a new radio and to get looked at because the suv wipers are streaking. We have contacted the general manager various time to talk to and in one instance of the last day of the month he saw us and we asked to speak to him and he just closed the door and they told us he was going to call us and nothing. The manager rex gave us an attitude when we told him that we are being nice about the subject. We bought a brand new suv and now we are stock with a lemon and we don’t have the money to get a lawyer, we trusted Hyundai and now we are even scared to drive this thing because of breaking. I left countless of emails and voicemails to the district manager D.H. Lee and no answers back. We spoke to the service manager and he said this which made us feel like we are hopeless thank you Hyundai. Good afternoon, Sorry for the delay. I have not yet heard back anything from Hyundai regarding your case. The only thing I have heard was from our rep, who advised me to advise you that if you are looking to have the vehicle repurchased under the lemon law, then you will need to go through the proper legal channels of the state of Florida. I legally cannot guide you through that process. However, there are laws in place to protect the consumer, and you are most certainly free to pursue that avenue. Our GM has been out of state. They got me the car I wanted at the price I was willing to pay where the other two dealers did not. They were very clear and explained everything along the process.

To many hard credit inquiries

This is my second Veloster I have purchased from O'Brien. My sales person was Carlos, he was nice. I also spoke with another person which I forgot his name. After going back and forth and telling them what I could and could not do payment wise I was told that they had got me approved for financing through Sun Coast. When I went to sign the paperwork the finance guy. David had included the extended warranty, of course he had the most expensive added to the contract. After changing the warranty and signing all the paperwork I left. This was on a Friday. Saturday I received a call from David telling me that Sun Coast needed more information and that they wanted to put my husband on the contract also. I asked why they had me sign the paperwork before they knew I was approved. They said they do that sometimes. Well to make a long story short. they ended up doing 10 hard inquiries on my credit and 6 on my husband. There is absolutely no reason they should have done that many. My credit score dropped a lot because of all the inquiries. Not only that but they ended up going with a bank that had a higher interest rate.

Sonota was the One

I went shopping at several dealerships. At O'Brien I felt they were willing to work with me to help find me a car that would fit my needs and my budget. Everyone I worked with acted in in a professional manner. The sales person, Daniel, spent a lot of time with me showing me first the Elantra, and at a later visit, the Sonota. They let me take the Elantra home for a night to see if it was the right car for myself & my husband. I felt that a car with a bit more room would be a better fit for me. They showed my the Sonota. After test driving, and going thru the features I went home to think it over. When I returned a couple days later, we discussed getting my payment to an amount I felt comfortable with. I have enjoyed driving the car now for a couple of weeks. Happy with my purchase.

Fantastic Buying Experience!

This has been the third Hyundai I bought! I've never had issues with the Hyundai brand and have to say that the O'Brien dealership made my purchase by far the easiest and best car buying experience yet. Love the new features in the 2018 that was not present in the 2016 model too and I'd like to acknowledge Adan for really covering the changes and added features as well! My salesperson (Adan) greeted me upon walking up, listened to what I was looking for in the new car and really delivered a great buying experience. I felt like he was genuinely making a great effort in making sure my wishes were met rather than trying to force a sale of something I wouldn't be happy with in the long run. Found the sales person very easy to work with. He went over the vehicle operation. He especially reviewed the electronics with me. He, of course, took me on a test drive to familiarize me with the Elantra's handling and acceleration characteristics. The finance and branch manager were also very helpful in setting me up.
